Mark and Mike’s Weekly Pick’ Ems gives us friends and family a chance to compete picking college and pro games for entertainment only. Just scroll down, make your selections and send it to Mark. Everybody’s picks will be posted to the web site Thursday night. All picks are due no later than Thurs night 6:00 PM, so be sure to turn your picks in as early as possible. Each week you wish to play, an entry of 10 points is required (also by Thurs night 6:00 PM). THIS YEAR we would be extremely appreciative (for those of you who are able) if you could do the points for the entire year all at once. Weekly players 11.00 points per week thru PayPal. Or save one point/week : just stop by the shop and see Mike in person. M-F 8-5. Mike guarantees all points would be refundable before kick-off Thursday night for any good reason.
Each week a 1st place (80% of total points), 2nd place (20% of total points) and a freebie (last place) will be posted to the site. Experienced players can tell you: there’s NO shame getting the freebie because that person gets to play for free (0 points) the next week. If you are doing badly you may even find yourself rooting for the freebie.
THIS YEAR THE WINNER MUST ACHIEVE 12 POINTS TO WIN ! If the winner only has 11 points or less, it causes a roll over. 80% will roll over, 20% will go to the highest score, and a freebie will be awarded.
ONLY players who participated in the previous week can play in a roll over week.
Any one player can only win first place a maximum of 4 times. Any player winning 4 times gets the Mark and Mike’s boot. (a rollover week counts as 2) You can continue to play for free if you like. If you win again it causes a roll over. The dumbass rule : If you accidentally pick both teams for the same game, and we can’t contact you to clarify which pick you prefer, the first pick will be used. HAVE FUN. Be sure to join the group on facebook and TRASH TALK. All picks are final once they are turned in. We recommend you do a screenshot before sending it. The tiebreaker wins by being the closest number to the number picked. It doesn’t matter if it’s over or under. A Freebie tie breaker is the farthest number from the number picked.
Odd ball scenarios but just in case : If 2 or more players are at a complete tie(including tie breaker points), the points are split equally among the winners and there is no second place, but there is a freebie. The person(s) with the most total points at the end of the year will be awarded Mark and Mike’s Vic Lombardi Trophy.
